Republic is not a Socratic dialogue

How do we know that the Republic is not a Socratic dialogue, despite the fact that Socrates is the
main character in the dialogue (you will need to explain how Plato uses Socrates in the dialogue)? In your
answer, you also will need to explain why the Republic’s description of the Ultimate form, given by Socrates, is
a good clue that the Ultimate form is not an idea Socrates would suggest, but is actually Plato’s idea
