Complete the cultural self-assessment cited in Andrews & Boyle (2016) on pages 36-38 in Transcultural concepts in nursing care (7th ed.) and document your feelings/findings/ideas/etc. in your journal. Visit places of worship, shopping areas, celebrations/festivals with your informant or go alone. Sample some of the cultural foods, eat in a restaurant, and visit a food market if possible. If you cannot experience these activities with your informant try to discuss aspects of these experiences with your informant. Begin to identify how these experiences are related to health/illness beliefs and practices. Continue to journal as you explore these experiences. The following weeks should focus on completing these experiences, completing the literature review, and continued journaling. Journaling activities should continue through the entire project up to paper submission.
