There are three critical elements that we will address in Milestone 5:
- The identification and description of at least three possible solutions to resolve the problem identified in the
project proposal submitted in Milestone 3; - The use of a tool to compare and contrast quantifiable costs associated with each alternative; and,
- The creation of a summary table of advantages and disadvantages related to each alternative, keeping in
mind that there are issues beyond quantifiable cost that might speak to the value of one or more alternatives
(e.g., fit with organizational culture; ethical considerations).
Quantifiable Cost/Benefit Tools
One of the issues discussed at our Milestone 5 Zoom session was the issue about how we should compare
and contrast quantifiable costs. The session (as well as the handbook) provides two alternatives from which
students are free to choose. In other words, students can us one or the other, but should not use both!
