Evaluate a work of art using the formal/content (subject matter)/context analysis approach. This
assignment focuses attention on the composition of the work and how it shows originality. Address design,
subject matter, and the work of art’s influences (how it is influenced by other work or how it influences others).
This assignment demonstrate an understanding of the factual, analytical, and evaluative process required
when writing about an artwork. Use Critical Thinking and Communication (below) when you write the analysis
paper.
Critical Thinking: Gather relevant information, pose vital questions and identify problems; apply creative and
unique ideas to achieve a personal interpretation of the work by asking yourself why you think artwork is
relevant. Exhibit effective understanding of critical thinking, reading, and writing in the text; reflect an informed
thought process, includes the use of source material, and effectively synthesizes your ideas with those of

Communication: Apply relevant content from Module One, Two and Three to evaluate your work of art;
