Mixed methods can be extremely challenging and time consuming. It is, in effect, using multiple methodologies
to get multiple perspectives on a problem. This can, at times, reveal better results, illuminating not only what
but why as well.
As with other assignments, find a homeland security research article that uses mixed methods or a metaanalysis. In the discussion, first, give me enough of a background on what they are looking at to get me up to
speed. If it is a mixed method design, then tell me which of the 6 major mixed method designs is used. If it is a
meta-analysis, then tell me what the eligibility criteria are and what they found.
