Research Project
- Apply various invention strategies to explore multiple questions around a topic of inquiry.
- Use multiple research strategies to investigate a topic of inquiry.
- Use appropriate sources effectively to contextualize your own research, as well as extend, expand, or argue with current ideas or theories on your particular topic of inquiry.
To achieve this, we will select a celebration and build a wiki about your research project discussing this celebration and the relevant traditions. Your wiki should have:
a. A Home page: Introduce yourself to me, using photos audios, writing, links, etc Select which information you want to share with me to introduce yourself as a writer.
b. Social narrative: Explain to me how your engagement in this celebration developed over time; what were your attitudes about it since early childhood? How they changed? How? Are there any specific rituals that you follow? (300-500 words)
c. Inquiry: This is where you zoom in on your research problem and use different types of sources to approach it and use the explanatory synthesis techniques we will discuss to compose a webpage about the celebration you selected. You can have videos, audios, surveys, interviews, statistics, etc.
d. Works Cited: Provide a list of works cited for all the sources you used in your project.
