Inertial Measurement

You should have Arduino to be able to do this lab

1)Connect a T-type (copper/constantan) thermocouple into the analog input directly, with no additional signal conditioning. Also use a voltage divider to adjust the analog reference voltage to 500mV or less. Capture a large temperature step- use a hot air gun or touch the bead directly to a hot plate. Again, turn in a plot of the data (voltage vs. time is OK). Do you see steps in the data? Why?

2)Connect the GY-521 Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) from the 37 sensor kit to the Arduino with the I2C interface (serial communication rather than analog). What are the outputs for the X and Y axes when they are aligned (a) with and (b) opposite the gravity vector?

4)Connect one other sensor from the kit(s) (analog or I2C), capture a signal, turn in data and explain what you did.
