For your quantitative project, we are asking find a pattern in the social world, see how far it is systematic
(rather than random), and then discuss how far this is evidence that one thing causes another. This involves a
fixed structure of seven stages, as I explain below. We go through all these stages during the Spring term – we
do not expect you to do anything that we haven’t taught you (and which you haven’t practiced), so as long as
you follow the instructions, you will do well!
