discovering? Several major “marketing initiatives” have been used by artists over the past decade as we’ve
transitioned to a digital world. Beyoncé releasing her album without notice; Radiohead releasing their album on
a pay what you want model, many rappers releasing mixtapes for free to build a fanbase so they can
eventually sell music or at least their live performance. Please evaluate these strategies. Can they work for any
artist? Are they only available to major stars?
