1. The English law concerning abortion amounts to an uneasy but effective compromise balancing the fundamental rights of the parties to the abortion process. Discuss.

2. The medicalisation of best interests when determining the course of treatment for seriously ill children has gone too far. Ultimately it should be the parents who make the final decision as to what approach should be taken regarding the treatment of their children.
