LGBT People Experience Using Local Health Services. The deadline for sending the work is 18th August 2021. The study has two hypotheses: • LGBT participants are generally dissatisfied with their experience within health services. • Trans participants will experience more health inequalities than LGB participants when using health services. The study research question is: • How do local LGBT communities experience the services provided to them by the local health services? The independent variable (IV): Age, Sex assigned at birth, gender identity, sexual orientation, frequency use of health service(s), type(s) of service(s) most used, area of living. The dependent variable (DV): LGBT People Experience Using Health Services. Please use psychological theories which may explain the issues faced by LGBT patients within healthcare settings. Here are some suggestions, however, I am open to other theory/theories. Ideally, I should use 1 main theory, however, a maximum of 3 theories can be applied. 1. Intersectional Theory (Check some publications of Professor Julie Fish https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=RdVUBwMAAAAJ&hl=en 2. Andersen’s Behavioural Model 3. Implicit Bias (which I think would cover many points of my research, such as stigma, prejudice, discrimination, stereotype, but I am not sure about it). • I would prefer a more synthesized approach whereby you have the Introduction including Literature Review together and Discussion including a Conclusion and the Recommendations together. • Use a theory that will be linked to the research question and the analysis directly, as in that way it will allow coherence of the work. You can also refer to a couple of theories briefly if they explain specific aspects of the topic (e.g., health inequalities) and then focus on one that is linked to the research question and the overall topic. • The work must be coherent: Hypotheses linked to Analysis talked about in the Discussion etc.) • Set an in-depth contextualization in Introduction with theoretical synthesis and a convincing rationale. • Make sure the Analysis is linked to the hypotheses and that it yields important Results that you can discuss in the Discussion. •
