For the assignment this week you will practice composing a thematic essay. This will be good practice for the upcoming midterm exam (see the Preparing for Exams Handout in the Syllabus section of this site for further background).
Step 1: Assess the validity of the following claim, drawing upon what you have learned so far in this course.
Ancient works of art have nothing to tell us about our contemporary society
Step 2: Choose at least two works/sites from lectures 3-9 and write an essay that relates them to your assessment. Be sure and provide relevant details for your choices and use visual analysis when making your argument.
