After diagnosis, imaging and a lumbar puncture will help providers see if the cancer has spread. Treatment includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, stem cell transplants and other anticancer medicines. AML typically develops from cells that are to turn myeloid cells that turn into white blood cells, red bloc cells, or platelets.
