Solving a problem

For many, getting published in a respected peer-reviewed journal is the pinnacle of accomplishments, while others prefer measuring success in terms of the impact they have on others. Assume your goal as a professional is not to just create new and useful knowledge, but to actually make things better due to the work you have done. Attack or defend the notion that it isn’t good enough to solve a problem if you haven’t also shown how others can benefit from it and package the results in understandable and compelling ways so that typical professionals can benefit from it.
