Marine Corps. Gen. James “Mad Dog” Mattis

-Write about a military leader that has positive character traits that had a positive impact on people around them. Write an essay in which you describe this person’s character traits and provide examples of how these traits affect other people.

He was an inspirational leader that motivated Marines throughout his military career. As the 1st Marine Division Commander in 2003 he gave a speech that motivated the Marines just before going to combat in Iraq. He know for having great quotes:
-In the same letter to the 1st Marine Division, Mattis implored his troops not to tarnish their honor.

“For the mission’s sake, for our country’s sake, and the sake of the men who carried the Division’s colors in past battles — who fought for life and never lost their nerve — carry out your mission and keep your honor clean,” Mattis wrote.

“Demonstrate to the world there is “No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy” than a U.S. Marine,” Mattis added in closing.
