Hamlet

In Hamlet, the prince hires a travelling acting troupe to perform a play. Which additional characters in Hamlet could be said to be “acting” when they are speaking with or observed by others? Why are they “performing”? Do they succeed in meeting their goals by such “acting”? What is Shakespeare’s point in having so much “acting” in the world of the play?
