(through chapter 10). Choose at least one example from each writing (i.e, at least one from Luke and one from
Acts). In other words, in what ways does God’s Spirit, working through Jesus and/or the early disciples as
recorded in both Luke and Acts, provide freedom, release and healing for those who are oppressed or in
captivity? Think about the kinds of freedom that Jesus and his followers provide (i.e., freedom from various
forms of oppression as well as physical healing). Explain your choices and reflect on how this theme helps you
understand the church’s overall mission in the first century as well as today.
