Center or Home Care Safety Check and Playground Safety Inspection Report

Method:

Step 1: Locate, ask permission from, and make an appointment with a licensed home or center to conduct your safety check and playground safety report card. You may need to provide the home operator or center director with a copy of the

.
Step 2: Perform the safety check by utilizing the CCHP Health and Safety Checklist for Early Care and Education Programs and evaluate a playground by using the America’s Playgrounds Safety Report Card.

If you are doing the safety check at a school or facility, avoid asking teachers questions while they are busy teaching. Your role should be to silently observe what you can physically see and hear. Plan to be in the school or facility for approximately 60-90 minutes. Remember to act and dress professionally because you represent the student body of GCCCD while you are doing the safety check and playground inspection.

Depending upon the age of the children in the home or center, you may or may not be required to fill out all sections of the CCHP-Health-and-Safety-Checklist since some sections only apply to infants and some only apply to preschool children.
