A market trend is a perceived tendency of financial markets to move in one particular direction to another over
time. The movie world! BlockBuster was a great company, and for all or any that remembers it, it was the next
best thing next to borrowing library books rather than buying them. BlockBuster rented out movies for a period
of time and you had to return them. When movies were on VHS they had that movie for you. When DVD came
out they were trending in that too. What happened after DVD? People did not want to go to a store and rent
anymore and pay a member’s fee for doing so. People did not want to leave there homes. Technology grew
and Blockbuster failed to move with the times. Companies like RedBox were successful in renting movies and
dropping it off without any line or fees. You rented the movie and returned it. Later on Netflix came in the
picture where you did not even have to leave your home for renting movies. You are now able to rent a movie
for a certain period of time and that is it. Many cable companies started doing that as well. BlockBuster was not
able to catch up with the trend so they went out of business
