choose a specific parish, not a county.) Provide data and discussion concerning the major agricultural
products. Was and/or is farming important to your chosen county? How much of the economy is agricultural?
Where are these products sold – within the country, the entire state, or beyond? Are most of the farmers in your
area specialized? Why or why not? Are most part-time or full-time farmers? What are some dominant features
of the agricultural landscape of your area? And most important, from an economic perspective, how important
is farming to this county? Be sure to include data to back up your claims.

the internet, starting with the USDA website, conduct your own field research, and/or interview local farmers or
