An image of diseased tissue

1. Post an image of diseased tissue, a rash, etc. related to how your pathogen causes disease in a host. Be sure to correctly name your pathogen and the disease it causes. (3 points)
2.What is the pathogen’s preferred portal of entry? (1 point)
3.How does the pathogen gain access through that preferred portal of entry? Explain how the pathogen is able to evade innate human host defenses that prevent this from occurring. You will discuss specific components of your pathogen here. (Examples may include capsules, cell wall components, exoenzymes, antigenic variation and penetration of the host cell cytoskeleton.) (3 points)
4. How does your pathogen damage host cells? (Include here use of host nutrients, direct damage, toxins) (1 point)
5. Does your pathogen produce an exotoxin or endotoxin? Discuss how this affects the host. This is where most of the damage is caused. Make sure you explain the difference between an EXOTOXIN and an ENDOTOXIN. (3 points)
