In his analysis of Facebook, entitled Mark Zuckerberg’s War on Free Will, Franklin Foer notes that Facebook “believes that it has unlocked social psychology and acquired a deeper understanding of its users than they
possess themselves” (Foer 113). Yet, Michael Moss, in the The Extraordinary Science of Junk Food, reminds us that “because so much money and effort has been invested over decades in engineering then relentlessly
selling these products, the effects are seemingly impossible to unwind” (Moss 271). Notwithstanding, Charles Siebert, in An Elephant Crackup? notes Gay Bradshaw’s question: “what does this mean beyond the science?
How do we respond to the fact that we are causing other species like elephants to psychologically break down”
(Siebert 351)?
Question: How might we evaluate the role of science and technology in our society, and to what extent has it
influenced social, political, and economic trends? Most importantly, how might science and technology change
the course of evolution on earth?

from each author) which serve as evidence supporting your thesis. Pay attention to syntax, grammar, and use
