Trail of Lightning focuses on monsters – literal monsters. However, as we learned in the Crash Course materials in class, monsters don’t have to be literal. Using the definition of monsters provided in the “Monsters. They’re Us, Man: Crash Course World Mythology,” compare and/or contrast the “monsters” in two of our readings. Explain what the “monsters” mean metaphorically in each text and compare/contrast to the other work. Be sure to use good reasoning and specific evidence for support.
