Annotating and Reviewing Qualitative Research

1. Refer to the readings of Anderson (2017) and Mayer (2015) as key resources to assist you in this assignment. Use other resources to support your assertions.
Part I: Annotate each article individually (your annotation should be substantially different from the author’s abstract). An annotation is approximately 200 to 500 words. An annotation does not contain your opinion of the article, except as requested in our assignment prompts below. Each annotation should be one paragraph for each article.
1. Provide an APA formatted reference citation for each article that is at the top of the annotation. Along with the APA formatted reference citation (including the doi number–see APA, chapter 7), include the “Permalink” for each article cited.
2. What did the author identify as the problem of practice, and why is it a problem?
3. What is the author’s purpose for conducting the research?
4. Briefly state what type of data was collected.
5. Who (population/context) was studied? (Give us (briefly) the demographics of those who were studied).
6. What were the results? (Research articles have a results section)
7. What were the implications and recommendations? (Briefly summarize the implications and recommendations).
8. Discuss how the article provides you with information that will help you think about your study. This should be a brief sentence or two to connect the information to your chosen problem of practice (My problem of practice: Within these clinics there seems to be a lot of job dissatisfaction of radiology technologists in the department. We need to understand this problem because it is causing a high turnover rate, resulting in schedules being closed because of the lack of skilled workers to perform this procedure and is affecting the quality of work life for employees)

9. Part II: Consider the three articles together and discuss how the authors analyzed their data. What details did they include that helped you understand analysis in terms of this week’s readings? What details are missing that cause you to be confused? What did you learn about qualitative data analysis from reading these articles? This section should be 2 to 4 paragraphs.
