Description
We will be exploring the faith perspectives of various famous astronomers and physicists. My hope is that we can gain some perspective on how faith has inspired many astronomers and physicists of the past and also dispel some of the misconceptions that characterize all scientists as atheists.
Prompt
- Find a video online (youtube, etc) about a well-known astronomer or physicist that gives us some background on him/her.
- Give us a quick summary of what the video says about this person’s background and contribution to science.
- Do a bit of research into this person’s faith perspective and give us a summary of what this person believed.
- Did their beliefs influence their scientific endeavors? How did they integrate their faith and their science?
Post and good quotes or thoughts this person had on these topics. (Let’s not pick Galileo since we’ve already discussed him at length).
