The project manager needs to apply leadership and organizational skills to help focus and guide the
project. Leadership, business, and organizational skills are essential in all aspects of project management.
As a leader and organizer of a project, it is important to know who will be responsible, the tasks and
functions involved, and the best approach for team development. A work breakdown structure (WBS) and
responsibility assignment matrix (RAM) are necessary to determine the phases of work and the people
responsible for working on each deliverable.
