Bertrand Russell.

At the beginning of the chapter, there is a quote by Bertrand Russell. Russell says, “In all affairs it’s a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted” (qtd. in Barnet, 3).
Discussion prompt: A Belief Questioned.
1) Describe a belief or situation which you had assumed was true but later found out it was not. This could be a something your family or peers believed, and you did not question it, it could be something from society such as social mores, something learned in school (we all know that our teachers are an infallible source of wisdom, right? — sarcasm intended), or from other sources.
2) Then describe what you learned about your belief that helped you to change / update your thinking on it.
