Background:
Student will be using the case study to perform a comprehensive category strategy. Students are expected to fully utilize all relevant concepts presented during lecture and in assigned readings in their preparation of the sourcing strategy papers.
Assignment Description:
- Conduct a review of the literature to find general concepts, theory, research findings and examples about the aspects of purchasing and supply management relevant to the case study.
- Assume that you are a purchasing manager for the category of flexible packaging at JDE.
- The project will require that you:
• Develop a comprehensive category strategy that meets overall business unit and sourcing requirements and is appropriate for the purchased input under review.
• Critically analyse, compare and contrast your findings on sourcing strategies to be used and provide recommendation on the best one. - As a guide, the total coursework length is expected to be between 2000 to 3000 words. Please note that the 2000 words count should be excluding reference page, appendix, table of contents, graphs, tables. Please try to avoid going substantially over this limit.
