Purpose:
• Relate Group Dynamics to CRM/SRM; how will you integrate this course into SRM?
• Evaluate MMT Team Meetings by reflecting on both overall team performance/outcomes, as well as your personal contribution.
• Reflect on your experiences in your team and integrate your learning from all aspects of the course, including the assigned readings, weekly team journals, class activities, MMT
meetings, and class dialogue and discussions.
• Imagine how you will use the team skills from this course as part of your overall leadership development.
Papers will be evaluated on the content depth and quality. A thoughtful, well-written paper will
include the following:
• Organize your reflections around key learnings and include supporting evidence that demonstrates your personal growth and professional development.
• Specific examples and detailed descriptions of learning experiences that were important for you.
• Reflections on your thought processes while you went through the Columbia mission and
MMT meetings.
• Analyses of your experiences and learning as a team member and team leader.
• Clear and precise connections between experience, readings, concepts, and examples from discussions.
• Evaluate the experience of practicing CRM skills in the simulator. Did the “hands-on”
Does experience lead you to a deeper understanding of teams, team building, and team leadership?
Content Ideas:
• Begin with an outline; do not simply begin writing. This will help you organize what to include, and how/where to include it.
• Choose several key lessons and/or experiences from this course and write about them.
Don’t try to categorize and summarize the entire module.
• Demonstrate that you understand the role and purpose of teams in organizations, and the functions of team leadership.
• Assess how your leadership style, values, and actions may or may not contribute to the team.
• What new learning did you acquire, and what impact might it have on your career, not only in aviation? Cite specific examples of team skills that may be helpful in your family,
personal, and business relationships.
