1. Students were some of the most active participants of the civil rights movement. Why do you think this was the case? How did young people mobilize without access to social media and smartphones?
2. If you were in charge of a student led group on civil rights, what issue would you advocate for? How would you get others involved in your cause?
3. The book discusses four barriers to African Americans obtaining the right to vote. What are they? Give an example of each.
4. Compare and contrast those barriers of the past to current national conversations on voter suppression in our modern times.
