Classical theory and neo-classical theory

      a. Classical theory and neo-classical theory are based on free will and deterrence. In fact, Jeremy Bentham, one of the early proponents of classical theory, said that to prevent the happening of crime, the pain of crime commission must outweigh the pleasure derived from criminal activity. What are your thoughts on this approach? b. How does this approach align with the idea of rehabilitation and which do you think is more effective?
