Colliding Continents.

Part 1: Describe, with examples, 3-4 lines of field and lab evidence used by Professor Mike Searle and his research students at Oxford and his other collaborators to understand the formation of the Himalayas. Be specific in describing the fieldwork and lab work as well as the mountain/Himalayan region where the fieldwork was conducted. At least one of the lines of evidence should specifically be about Mt. Everest. Do not repeat text from the reading verbatim (e.g., summarize what you read in your own words).

Part 2: Try your best to describe what the map on pages 204, 205, 355, and 356 are showing. Also locate pictures that show large folds in the rocks and identify 2 or 3 that catch your attention. In your answer, you might want to consider such things as: rock types present, the extent that rock units have been folded, the complexity of the map, and anything else that you want to say about the map.

Part 3: Describe what did you found most interesting from watching the assigned videos and reading Colliding Continent, including watching Mike Searle in “How the Earth Was Made”
