For this social change plan, you are required to discuss your community data, your plan for a solution, and explain and cite at least 3 separate course concepts from our class materials in your initial post. Focus on explaining how social change can be accomplished in your plan by applying the terms that you have learned throughout our session.
Write your social change plan following the three steps outlined below.
Step 1
Introduce your topic and the community (yes, one more time!). Give a description of the social problem, and include a summary of the data you have collected these past several weeks to provide significance of the problem. Why is it necessary to make changes, and why is this a significant issue? Use all of your data and research to build a strong case for your community’s need. (Paraphrase and cite sources where appropriate, no quotations!)
Step 2
The main part of your post: Lay out your plan for change. How do you see the best course of action for making changes? What specifically do you think needs to be done?
Include specific, practical ideas that could be undertaken in your community. Walk us through the steps of the process that is needed to create the change. What do you think will be difficult to overcome, and what could be done to mitigate the problems (for instance, fundraising, education, awareness campaigns, etc)?
How viable is your solution for the long-term future, and what needs to be considered for sustaining it (again, funding, a new government position or organization, etc)? (Paraphrase and cite sources where appropriate, no quotations!)
