1st part separate, The outline is a brainstorming exercise for students to develop and organize the different
components of their research paper.
2nd part, The purpose of the annotated bibliography is to summarize the contribution of sources to your
research paper. Each annotation should be about three sentences. Remember to follow the style guide of your
discipline/major (MLA, APA, CMS, etc.). The annotated bibliography must have a minimum of 8 scholarly or
authoritative references. The annotated bibliography should be typed in 12-point, Times New Roman font, and
double-spaced with one-inch margins. Please submit the annotated bibliography as a Word or Pages
document.
last part, Building on the archival assignment, students will 1) examine the equal rights issue from their archival
paper in a US city of their choice and 2) compare the effects of this issue on the lived experience of African
Americans in Milwaukee and the selected city.
Students must cite a minimum of eight scholarly or authoritative sources. In addition to the scholarly sources,
student can interview people, such as relatives, friends and neighbors, who have been impacted by the civil
rights issue (if that can be safely done in the pandemic). Citations and references must follow MLA, APA or
CMS style guide.
The research paper should be well organized with proper grammar, typed in 12-point, Times New Roman font,
and double-spaced with one-inch margins. Please submit the research paper as a Word or Pages document.
The research paper should be at least 10 pages, not including the works cited list, but should not exceed twelve
pages.
