Considering Verbatim theatre or Documentary theatre

  Considering Verbatim theatre or Documentary theatre, how do artists take the words of real people and dramatize the work? What is the role of the performer (is the performer part playwright, part author, part interviewer, part journalist)? What is the role of the audience in terms of suspending its disbelief? Is there a call to action? Be sure to consider the performer, the audience, and the text (play script, interviews, etc.). Use specific examples from our course material. Be sure to define terms.
