-Waythorn’s character development as he is forced to interact with his wife’s two previous husbands
-Mrs. Waythorn’s character development and her role in society
-Society’s changing perspective on divorce and role of social classes in late nineteenth century America
-Some other critical approach which you find interesting and relevant.
