Pick a Bannar Ad and Fix it, write what is wrong with it and change it to be better formatted (use powerpoint) then write a two page paper about the revision on why you made the change

Choose a website (publisher such as MSN.com, NYTimes.com, Spotify.com, Pandora.com, Weather.com, BusinessInsider.com, TheHuffingtonPost.com, Jomashop.com, Trekbikes.com, etc. – please do not use Amazon.com ) and evaluate a single digital ad unit, ad placement, the ad design, messaging, CTA, and the associated landing page. Please delete your cookies and cache before visiting the publisher you choose. Let′s make the assumption that your selected advertisement is not performing well and is not generating sufficient sales, leads, etc. You should evaluate the existing advertising promotion (banner ad) and make suggestions to increase sales, awareness, and leads by changing the messaging, ad placement, ad design (image), CTA, and landing page. Framework: 1) Choose one Digital ad unit (300 x 250) or (728 X 90) or (300 X 600) or (160 X 600) on Publisher site (Please use media sites such as, Cnn.com, MSN.com or sites that shows ads.) 2) Evaluate the Digital Ad design, Ad placement, Messaging and CTA of the ad unit 3) Evaluate Landing Page Part A: What is to be handed in written form (everyone should ready to present in class): a) A one page paper pointing out the weakness of the existing ad and provide your revision of the ad unit, ad placement, ad design, messaging, cta, and landing page (You should be providing background on why you are changing the items). b) Think as a consumer and identify where would you drop off in the advertisement – would you not click the CTA, would you click the CTA but will not make a purchase or provide a lead on the landing page etc. c) Explain why your revision will perform better (provide hypothesis and basis why you revised each section) d) Show your revision (changed version) of the ad unit, ad design, messaging, cta, and landing page Part B: Create a powerpoint or visual mockup: 1) Show the existing ad unit, ad placement, messaging, cta, and landing page and point out weaknesses. 2) Create a visual mock-up of the new Ad Unit, ad placement, messaging, cta, and landing page based that reflect your changes. Factors to consider as you formulate your hypothesis (these questions do not have to be answered in the written document but use as a reference point to answer the questions in part A): 1) What market is the company is in, who are their competitors 2) What website is the advertisement on and why 3) Who are the site visitors – look at the publisher′s media kit 4) Is it a contextual or behavioral advertisement? 5) Are there any other ads on that page, what are they advertising, what are the CTAs and messaging 6) What messaging and CTAs of what their competitors are using. 7) What is the company′s mission statement and does it tie somewhat into the advertisement 8) How does the firm′s competitor run their similar campaign? 9) What is the promotion′s value proposition? 10) If a product advertisement, then is it on sale? Is it priced at premium? Is the site’s visitors price-sensitive?
