Terms you may be unfamiliar with are in bold, please refer to the readings or other sources for definitions. You should use the World Health
Organization and the United States Centers for Disease Control as your primary information sources, however other sources are permitted to support
your work. Please cite all sources of information.
In two or three sentences, address the following points:

- What is the eitologic agent of this disease? Give details such as the type of virus, Gram reaction of a bacterium, or any other relevant information.
- Using the correct terminology described in the reading, how is this disease spread? (airborne, mechanical vector, etc.) What does that mean?
- Is there a living reservoir of this disease? If so, what?
- How is this disease typically diagnosed? Is it sometimes confused with other diseases? How is this disease distinguished from other diseases with
similar symptoms? (5 points) - Is this disease common in the US? Is it present only in certain areas of the world?
- Is it possible for a human to have a sub-clinical infection or be asymptomatic and spread this disease? Is it contagious during its incubation period?
- Using the correct terminology, what type of vaccine is it (live attenuated, heat-killed, subunit, etc.) and what does that mean? How often do you
need to get it? How long does immunity last? - What are other ways that this disease may be prevented?
- Are there any contraindications for this vaccine? What are the most common side effects?
