Does bathing with chlorhexidine daily reduce the rate of CLABSI?

In patients with central venous catheters, does bathing with chlorhexidine daily, compared to bathing without chlorhexidine, reduce the rate of CLABSIs over a 3 month period? Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI) can pose an array of risks for patients as it can cause septic shock, o‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍rgan failure, and even mortality. CLABSIs can be costly to both the hospital and patient as a result of an increased hospitalization stay. This research project seeks to explore the effects of daily chlorhexidine (CHG) baths given to patients with a central venous catheter as opposed to not bathing with chlorhexidine‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍.
