The case method is one of
the most effective techniques used in management education. The use is predicated upon the belief that
tackling real business problems is the best way to develop practitioners. Real
problems are messy, complex, and very interesting. The case method requires you
to be an active participant in the closest thing to the real situation. It is a
way of gaining a great deal of experience without spending a lot of time. It is
also a way to learn a great deal about how certain businesses operate, and how
managers manage. The case situations that you will analyze will require the use
of analytical tools and the application of your personal judgment.
There is no single correct
solution to any of these cases. You can take the approach to the analysis of
the case of your choosing. You will analyze the case and offer a 6-7 page paper
that at a minimum will cover:
·
Introduction
·
Context
·
Key
Issues, Strategic Challenges or Opportunities – Identity and Cause
·
Analysis
of the Alternatives, Actions, or Decisions
·
Proposed
Solution or Alternatives
·
