English- lensing poems to civil rights

      Merriam-Webster defines a lens as: something that facilitates and influences perception, comprehension, or evaluation. For Paper #2, utilize both Morrison’s “Women, Race, and Memory” as well as 1 of Lorde’s poems (Litany for Survival OR Power) to perceive, comprehend, and evaluate an article. The article in question must be concerning the topic of civil rights and/or social justice. It must have been published within the last 5 years (2018 at the earliest). Acceptable sources: NPR, BBC News, Associated Press, CNN, NY TIMES, The Guardian, etc…(My criteria for selection ranges from credited library databases to journalism-prize winning news sources).
