"Europe Movie".

Suggested films are listed because 1) they clearly illustrate course themes and content (e.g., regional distinctiveness, local culture, universal and/or uneven human experiences, language, migration, diaspora, lived effects of poverty and war, etc.); and/or 2) because they amplify diverse, BIPOC, underrepresented, or otherwise marginalized perspectives, in and through filmmaking. You will write film analyses that must ‘read’ the films through the lens of course content – explicitly referring throughout to notes taken from class (with the date), key terms and concepts from Marston, student presentations, etc. Format: 2-3 pages each, single spaced, Times New Roman, 12pt, graded Pass/Fail (pass = 70% or above, with a redo required under 70%). Movie List: Cross-Region – Human Flow* (Streaming on Prime) Serbia: Quo Vadis Aida? (Streaming on Hulu and Kanopy w Rutgers ID, Canvas Media Gallery) Spain: Biutiful (Canvas Media Gallery, turn on English subs / CC) Portugal: The 100 Foot Wave (Streaming HBO series about world famous surfing destination)
