Not only does evidence-based practice help patients, but it also helps nurses complete their work more efficiently and increase their job satisfaction. The steps involved in completing the evidence-based research process are to select a topic that can offer a potential resolution to a problem related to the nursing practice, create a PICOT statement, and utilize substantial research to determine how your proposed solution could potentially affect the problem you are choosing to focus on. It is important to follow these steps to ensure that the information being presented in your research is accurate, appropriate, well researched, peer reviewed and formatted appropriately.
