FAMILY COMMUNICATION & HEALTH ACROSS THE LIFESPAN

Critically engage with a reading/research article. In this video you will

(1) Propose a reflective question for the class to answer regarding

(2) Respond to the kickoff question. Reflective questions must reference a specific reading/article(s) and research finding(s) associated with the reading(s) for this module.

Kickoff question: Shehan and colleagues’ article explored HIV disclosure in mother-son relationships. Think

What other important topics (with biopsychosocial health implications) do you think we have trouble disclosing to our parents and how could disclosing/not disclosing impact our health in positive or negative ways? Feel free to consider this across the lifespan. Which issues are easier/harder to discuss in adolescence, emerging adulthood, young adulthood, and middle adulthood. Why is this the case?
