Chapter 6, “Supervisory Behavior Continuum: Know Thyself,” pages 113–128.
This chapter focuses on applying the practical characteristics of supervisors to yourself.
Chapter 7, “Direct Control Behaviors,” pages 130–139.
This chapter focuses on the characteristics of direct control behavior.
Chapter 6 in SuperVision and Instructional Leadership: A Developmental Approach (10th ed.) describes several ways for a supervisor to gather feedback on
his or her own performance. Address the following in 250–350 words:
As a supervisor, which of these strategies (e.g., Johari window, cognitive dissonance, comparing self-perception with others’ perceptions, comparing selfperceptions to recorded behaviors, and 360-degree feedback) would you feel most comfortable applying?
