Filmmaker Michael Dalton-Smith,IMAX film

A good discussion board post is one that adds a thought to our understanding of the film. Most posts are about one paragraph long. PROMPTS (Please choose one) IMAX film is much bigger than standard 35 mm film. Each frame of IMAX film is 70 mm x 48.5 mm (3395 sq mm), compared to 21.95 mm x 18.6 mm (408.27 sq mm). In other words, one frame of IMAX film contains more than eight times as much information as a standard film frame. That larger film size makes it possible to show the film on a very large screen without losing resolution. For that reason, filmmakers use IMAX film when they want to show something very dramatic and large (for example, an expedition to the top of Mt. Everest, or underwater caves).
How does filmmaker Michael Dalton-Smith take advantage of large-format IMAX film? What image impressed you the most? OR Sound quality in most American movie theaters has improved dramatically in the last decade. IMAX films have always had high-quality sound. What did you notice about the sound in this film?
