A Kielbasa Too Far is a sort of anti-food piece, a more conceptual story about the perils of eating and getting sick in foreign countries. For this Journal assignment I would like you to write about a bad eating experience. Have you ever gotten violently ill from food? Food poisoning, or just a nasty upset stomach? Tell me a story about it. As usual, set the scene a little: where were you, describe it? What was the context of the meal–and what did you eat? How did it taste as you ate it, and what did the illness feel like? Try to evoke sensations in a way that makes me feel it too!
