What is the main point of “Good History Bad History?” What are Kalman and his co-authors trying to say? Interestingly, even though Victor Margolin writes for some of those “starchy” journals that Kalman references, there seems to be some overlap between these two pieces. What is it about the relationship between design and history (and culture) that these articles are trying to emphasize? Why do you think that should matter for designers?
