Sports have always been among the greatest facilitators of social change. However, issues of discrimination and bias continue to exist in sports-related workplaces. Dr. Richard Lapchick of the University of Central Florida has researched the hiring practices of the major leagues in professional sports and intercollegiate sports in the United States. In doing so, he has provided insight into their hiring practices related to minorities and women and has provided guidance on how to promote a more diverse workforce.

For this Assignment, you will examine one of Lapchick’s recently published Race Report Cards. You will analyze the report’s usefulness in anti-discrimination efforts as you take into consideration discoveries you have made this week with regard to gender and racial equity Issues in athletics.

I have assigned this video in which Lapchick describes personal experiences related to racial inequities in sport and presents statistics on hate crimes related to gender and race. Read the entire Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sports (TIDES) report and select a report card prior to writing your paper.
Submit a 1-page paper in which you do the following:
1. Identify the Race Report Card you selected (i.e., year/league).
2. Explain your insights and reflections related to whether the sports league is successful in its anti-discrimination efforts.
3. Answer this question: What could the league do to avoid being sued for a Title VII violation?
4. Cite specific examples from the report in your paper using APA style.
