Research paper 1: choose 2 similar objects (like 2 tapa sleeping sheets, or 2 wooden temple images, or 2 carved bowls, 2 cloaks). Copy a picture of each object (about 1/2 – 2/3 page size each). Write a caption for each picture in which you identify what the object is, its material, size, color, and provenance information ( what museum it is in, or private collection, when it was collected, what island it is from, who owned it,..). Be sure to include at the end of each caption a reference on where you got the picture from. On a separate introductory page include 1-2 paragraphs on how this type of object was used with references. Make a title page for the paper. Research paper 2: using the same format as paper 1, choose 2 other similar objects of a different type. Copy a picture of each object.
